First Visit To Ankasamudra

Hagaribommanahalli, on the banks of the TB dam reservoir near Hospet, turned out to be a huge surprise on many counts. The bird density and diversity, especially on Malvi dam reservoir bed and the Ankasamudra wetland, turned out to be dizzying. The GreenHBH team, a local activist group, turned out to be one of the most well-organised civil society organisations I've encountered. In the territory of the infamous mining barons of Bellary to see all this was wonderful.
