Ankasamudra In The Monsoons

My second visit to Ankasamudra felt different since all the winter migrants had left and there was much lesser bird activity in all the usual hotspots. Which meant that we could pay more attention to the residents. Here are a few I managed to photograph.

Coppersmith Barbet (Psilopogon haemacephalus)

Large Grey Babbler (Turdoides malcolmi)

Baya Weaver (Plocius phillipinus)

The males were talking blocks of clay from a nearby farmland and using it in their nests. I'm not sure for what purpose.
